Home cleanouts — whether you're clearing a garage, handling an estate, or doing a full-house declutter before a move — are one of the most common reasons people rent a dumpster. Choosing the right size upfront saves money and prevents the frustration of running out of room mid-project.

    Start With the Scope

Before you pick a size, take an honest look at what you're clearing. Walk through the space and estimate: how many rooms, how much furniture, how much accumulated stuff? This rough mental inventory makes size selection much easier.

The 15-Yard: Right for Most Residential Cleanouts

The 15-yard is our most popular size — and for good reason. At approximately 4–5 pickup truck loads of capacity, it handles:

    • A full two-car garage cleanout
    • A single-room or partial-home cleanout
    • A spring cleaning project
    • A small estate cleanout from a one-bedroom property
    • A pre-move declutter in a standard home

The 15-yard also fits in most standard residential driveways, making it the most practical choice for the majority of homeowner projects.

The 20-Yard: When You Need More Room

Step up to the 20-yard when the project is bigger than one room or when you're clearing a home with significant accumulation:

    • Full three to four-bedroom home cleanout
    • Large estate cleanout from a long-term residence
    • Hoarder cleanout (may need multiple loads)
    • Whole-home estate sale post-cleanup
    • Major downsizing from a large property

    When in Doubt, Go Bigger

If you're genuinely unsure between 15 and 20-yard, go with the 20-yard. The cost difference is modest compared to the hassle and expense of arranging a second container when you run out of room. A partially full 20-yard is far less frustrating than an overfull 15-yard with no room for the last 20% of the project.

    One Exception: Concrete and Dirt

If your cleanout includes concrete, dirt, or rock from any source, that material must go in our 10-yard lowboy — not in a standard container. If you have both standard debris and heavy materials, we can arrange delivery of both sizes.
